message from director

I want to respond to a question that came across in our computer training survey

Question: How can we afford to offer computer classes when we have made so many cuts?

Answer: Well, through the Library Foundation Board we have had generous donations to provide the purchase of laptops and to continue to provide free computer literacy education. We have always offered free one-on-one computer assistance by appointment and this was well used, but unfortunately with the reduction in staffing this was discontinued. To replace it, we can now offer group instruction at a time when we have staff here. As I noted before, your Library is still here and continues to provide services, just on a reduced scale. Our patrons continue to inquire about computer education and we had partnered with numerous library supporters who feel this is an important service. Colleges charge fees while with community assistance this is still a free service of your public library.

Good question. I will continue to try to respond to your questions as they come in.

Thanks to the Library Foundation Board Members for their fundraising efforts.
